MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Thanks to his dazzling performance on the mound over the weekend, Penn State Harrisburg's Drew Harshbarger has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
Harshbarger joins teammate Bret Williams (3/23) as Penn State Harrisburg players to earn the national honor during the 2021 season.
The starting pitcher turned in an unforgettable performance on Saturday afternoon when he became just the second hurler in program history to throw a no-hitter. The right hander allowed just three baserunners and struck out 11 batters during a victory over Wells in the opening game of a conference doubleheader. The McVeytown, Pa. native twice struck out the side during the win, including striking out the final three batters he faced in the top of the seventh to secure Penn State Harrisburg's first no-no since 2013. For his efforts, he was named the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Pitcher of the Week.
The LIons return to action this weekend when they travel to Lancaster Bible for a conference doubleheader on Saturday afternoon, April 10.
