Frostburg, Md.- After a difficult start to the 2017 season due to weather conditions, the Penn State Harrisburg baseball team looked to get back on track on Saturday March 24th as they traveled to Frostburg State for a CAC double header. The Lion's took game one 3-2 but fell in the second match up 17-8.

In the bottom of the third, Frostburg State put their first run of the game on the board with a home run by Colton Sivic. Penn State Harrisburg responded in the top of the fourth with a double from Ethan Kell, sending David Klein to home plate to tie the match up 1-1. Bret William homered in the top of the sixth to put the Lion's on top 2-1. The home team scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to send the game into extra innings. Chris Iocca singled up the middle in the tenth inning as Jackson Stru scored to put the Lion's on top 3-2.

Both teams struggled in the first three innings to find their stride before Frostburg State came out hot in the fifth with four big runs thanks to two doubles and a fielder's choice. Bret William hit his second home run of the afternoon in the top of the sixth to trail by 4-2. Frostburg State added four more runs to their tally in the bottom of the sixth once again from two doubles and a single up the middle from Brad Garrant. The home team extended their lead 15-2 in the seventh before the Lion's scored two of their own in the top of the eighth. Justin O'Dell was sent home on a walk followed by a single by David Klein, advancing Scott Angstadt Jr. The Lion's made one final effort in the ninth inning off a home run by Ethan Kell with bases loaded. Kell's home run was not enough to overcome Frostburg's offensive surge on Saturday afternoon.
