Blue & White Improve at Messiah

GRANTHAN, Pa- Penn State Harrisburg's Men's and Women's Cross Country teams competed in the 18th Annual Messiah College Cross Country Invitational Saturday Morning.

In the men's race, Messiah took first place while Penn State Harrisburg finished fifth out of nine teams with a total time of 2:41:15 and a average time of 32:15. The Lions had two runners finish in the top 50 in Nick Sturm (Hamburg, Pa. / Hamburg) who finished 29th with the time of 30:03 and Edgar Makimoto (Middleburg, Pa. / Selinsgrove Area) who placed 46th with the time of 32:06.

During the women's race, Gettysburg College took first place while Penn State Harrisburg took sixth place with the total time of 2:45:41 and the average time of 33:08. Alissha House (Crownpoint, N.M. / Thoreau) was the first of the Lions to finish with the time of 31:43, teammate Rachel Sechrist (Allentown, Pa. / Salisbury) wasn't too far behind as she finished with the time of 32:14.

The Lions will next compete against Salisbury on Saturday September 28th, start time 10:30 am.
