Buena Vista, Va.- The Penn State Harrisburg women's basketball team cruised past Southern Virginia on Saturday February 4th for a much needed conference win. Kaitlyn Carmo led for the Blue and White with 26 points and 9 rebounds. Shanique Mattis finished the day with a double double at 18 points and 11 rebounds.

-Penn State Harrisburg only trailed for the first quarter, 21-17, before pulling ahead in the second to lead at the half. At the beginning of the second quarter the home team opened things up with a 7-0 run before the Lion's took control. Harrisburg responded with their own 14-0 run to take the lead for the first time all game
-Aireo Payne and Kaitlyn Carmo combined for 12 points to put Harrisburg on top by one before Madison Hemler sank a three to extend the Lion's second quarter lead. SVU responded with their own three to try and cut Harrisburg's lead heading into halftime.
-Carmo finished her third three of the day at the start of the second half to put Harrisburg on track to keep their hard fought lead. Southern Virginia was not yet going to let the Lion's pull ahead as they came out in the second with two back-to-back three's to take back the lead. With less then one minute to go in the third quarter, Katie Humphrey sank two straight three's to put Harrisburg on top 51-52
-The Blue and White had their biggest quarter of the match in the fourth, outscoring the home team 28-12. Mattis and Carmo combined for 21 of the 28 points in the fourth quarter
