Annville, PA – The Penn State Harrisburg men's and women's track teams battled through the winter weather and tough competition Saturday January 24th at the Lebanon Valley College Dutchmen Invite.
Fortunately the team made it there safe and both teams had strong showings from a multitude of athletes. On the men's side Jalen Williams (Easton, Pa / Easton Area) finished sixth in the 55 meter sprint with a time of 6.88 seconds. Joey Phifer (Union, N.J / Union) took 8th in the mile and Takodah Thompson (Hershey, Pa / Hershey) finished tenth in the 3000 meter. James Keith (Philadelphia, Pa / Imhotep Institute) had the best finish of the day taking fourth place in the 500 meters.
Antinuke Adeshola (Houston, Tx. / The Woodlands) showed extremely well for the Lion women today with her sixth place finish in the 55 meter sprint thanks to a time of 8.00 seconds. Nicole Lindie (Bowie, Md. / Bowie) also grabbed a sixth place honor in the 800 meter while Katlin Gould (Camp Hill, Pa. / Cedar Cliff) added a few inches to her pole vault by hovering 10' 6" for fourth place.
Head Coach Danielle Lynch was pleased with the team's performance, "weather presented us with some logistical challenges today however our team pushed through and had some great performances including personal records and experience in circles and on runways. I am proud of the team for fighting through adversity and putting in some good work."
The meet was not scored for team results. Penn State Harrisburg will travel next weekend to attend the Bison Open hosted at Bucknell University.
