How it Happened:
Salisbury started at lighting pace with a 10-2 run in the first 3:33 of the game. After the quick start that had the home team down by as many as 11, Harrisburg turned up the defensive intensity and started to get some of their own shots to fall. It took some time, but with 5:03 to play, a Trent Thomas three pointer gave the Lions their first lead of the day.
The second half started with the Seagulls up by three and they extended their lead to nine over the first five minutes. Penn State bounced back with a 9-0 run over four minutes to tie the game at 56 with 7:06 to play. The game stayed tight to the end, but Salisbury maintained a two-point lead with just over two minutes to play. With every possession critical, the 11-5 Seagulls kept their composure for their twelve win of the year.
Chad Barcikowski (SAL) – 17 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assist
Trent Thomas (PSH) – 16 points, 3 rebounds, 4-6 from three
The Lions hit the road Wednesday January 24th to face the Wesley Wolverines. It should be a good match up for both teams; Harrisburg lost the first game 74-73 in the first conference game of the season.
