De Los Santos Drops 25 on Senior Night/ Carter Dominates with 22 Point/18 Rebound Double-Double.
This year’s 10th most memorable moment comes from the hard wood when Alberto De Los Santos (East Pennsboro, Pa. / East Pennsboro) and Kiara Carter (Bronx, NY. / Milton Hershey) showed why they are arguably the best on their respective teams.
Santos ended his four year career here at Penn State Harrisburg with a bang scoring 25 points on senior day. He did so by shooting five for eight from behind the arch and shooting an impressive 72.7 percent from the field. But even with his stellar performance the team keep it close up until the end when Christopher Newport hit free throws to end the game winning by 10, 66-56.
Not to be outdone, Carter had a fantastic performance of her own when the Lions took on Conference foe Southern Virginia. Carter put together one of the best games of her career scoring 22 points and gathering up 18 rebounds; both of which are season highs for her. As in most games this season, Carter proved lethal in the low post as she shot 71.4 percent from the field, bringing down 13 defensive rebounds to go along with her five offensive rebounds. With one more year of eligibility left she will look to improve on both marks including her 10.7 rebounds a game which was good enough for 3rd in the CAC.
