Middletown Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg Baseball traveled to face off against Penn State Berks on Monday March 19th. In an offensive slugfest, both teams had no issues getting themselves on the scoreboard. Harrisburg's Brett Williams had an impressive outing going 3-4 and stealing four times in the contest, which ended after the eighth inning due to daylight. Harrisburg claimed the win 17-12 after scoring eight runs in the final inning.

How it Happened:
Ryan McSorley singled to start the game and help Harrisburg to a three run first inning of play. Berks also scored a run in the first inning, which set the tone for a long day at the plate for both teams.
Harrisburg scored again in the third inning to take a 4-1 lead only to be tied up the bottom of the inning as Berks scored three with the help of a Toby Welk triple. Harrisburg scored five runs in the top of the fourth by hitting single after single combined with a few walks.
Welk spurred Berks to match the visitors big inning in the fourth, following up his triple with a home run in an inning that the home team would score four to get the score to 9-8. After a run in the bottom of the fifth, everything remained tied until Berks scored three runs to take their first lead of the day in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Trailing for the first time, Harrisburg refused to let this game slip away. The visiting Lions put up a monstrous eighth inning, scoring eight runs. Harrisburg did not have any doubles, triples, or home runs today, but used a quality team performance to come out with an impressive win and 17 total runs in just eight innings. The game was called to due darkness and the ninth inning was not played.
