Title: Assistant Coach

Keenan Schaeffer joins the Penn State Harrisburg Men's Soccer staff as an assistant coach this season (Fall 2018). Schaeffer, a 2011 graduate of Elizabethtown College, brings a diverse background including a speciality in goalkeeping.

The Wrightsville, Pa., product was a four year varsity starter at Eastern York High School and was recruited to go to Elizabethtown College.  He played 2 years for the Blue Jays and also threw for their Track and Field team for a year.  He has recently played two years for our own Hershey FC men's team.

Schaeffer currently is the Goalkeeping Coach for Millersville University's Men's Team.  He started the spring of 2015 and helped mentor the Marauders during their 2015 campaign which led to a PSAC finals appearance and a NCAA tournament bid.  Under Schaeffer's supervision, his GK squad allowed only 15 goals (decrease of 18 from the 2014 campaign) and racked up 10 shutouts (increase of 7 from the 2014 campaign).

Schaeffer has been coaching for five years now for clubs all around central pennsylvania as he pursues his passion of teaching young athletes.  He has experience coaching u9, u21 and all ages in between.  He has coached male and females throughout his years coaching.

Schaeffer also was the head coach for Eastern York High School for 3 years, his alma mater. 

Schaeffer holds National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Goalkeeping Level 3 Diploma as well as the Advanced National National diploma. Schaeffer has also pursued the US Soccer licensing by getting his E.
