YORK, Pa. -- On Friday, a record 1,499 student-athletes were named to the 2017 Capital Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, including a number of Penn State Harrisburg student-athletes. The Lions placed 113 athletes on the All-Academic Team.
The Lions placed fifth in the conference by percentage with 47.4% of its athletes earning a 3.20 grade point average for the academic year. Penn State Harrisburg was one of eight league institutions to place over 40% of its athletes on All-Academic Team.
For the fourth straight year, the conference registered a record number of student-athletes with 1,499 total academic honorees in 2016-17. A total of 46.2% of the student-athletes in the league earned recognition for accomplishing a 3.20 grade-point average for the academic year while participating in one or more of the CAC championship sports.
